Our story · ストーリー
From Singapore to the
Japanese countryside.
I grew up in Singapore and spent years building websites for businesses across Southeast Asia and Australia. But it was Japan that changed everything.
Travelling through rural Japan — through small towns, quiet valleys, and countryside communities — I kept discovering incredible local businesses that nobody could find online. A third-generation sake brewery with no website. A family-run ryokan invisible on Google Maps. A craftsman whose work deserved a global audience but had none.
The digital gap between urban and rural Japan is real, and it costs local businesses customers every single day.
That's why I started Akari Web Design — to bring a small light to the places that need it most. Not just web design, but a genuine commitment to helping Japan's countryside thrive.
